Hi John
I am sending copy of letter that I have
in my box of stuff.
copy of handwritten letter; abt 1900s
Dear Sirs I wish to inform you that I
have been to Rolla, Phelps County to see
my sister Nancy Miller, and I saw a letter
ritten from you concerning the Jennings
Estate in England. I thouth I would write
to you outline of my nolnedg concerment, I
am now 80 years old.
I was born in Kentucky 7 miles north of
the back orchard till 13 years, my mother
moved to Tennessee, I was married in 1827
and moved to Illinois in the halve of 1828
and staid with my grandfather Jesse Jennings
one week....he lived 5 miles north of the
Crop Orchard Ky. he was then 80 years ould,
and he told mether was a large estate in
ingland for the Jennings if weever get it.
His oldest son named Thomas and he was my
father. The ould grandfather married in Va.
to a welch lady and moved to Kentucky in the
first settlers of Ky. he had 8 children.,
three boys and five girls. I have no recoll-
ectio any futher back only I herd my father
speak about that estate coming to the Jennings, but from what you wrote to sister
Nancy Miller, about the time they came over
to America, and ther age grandfather Jennings must be the son, or a grandson according to
their ages now.
Mr, Jennings if you can find out anything
about my grandfather let now all about it. I
want you to rite to me and tell mewhat you now if you have any news from the lawyer
that is attending to it.This leaves me well hoping the my find you and yours injoying the same blessing. pleas writ to me and keep me
posted concerning the estate. direct your letter to John Hoskins, Lone Oaks, Bates
County Missouri. names only remanes, yours
