Abilene Morning News Thurs 3 Feb 1927 "Funeral Today for Mrs Winter Pioneer of
City" 'died at home 8:45 AM after illness of 4 yrs. Survived by husband, 4
childre- M. I. Smith of Calif, Howard Humphries of Abilene, Jeff Humphries
Clyde, D. A. Winter Jr of Abilene.'
Abilene Daily Reporter Thurs Feb 3 1927 "Funeral will be held for Pioneer"
'Funeral services for Mrs. D. A. Winter, 72, who died Wednesday morning after
a long illness were to be held at 3 o'clock Thursday PM at First Baptist
Church. Mrs. Winter lived in Taylor County for nearly 50 years and in
Abilene since 1883. She moved to Taylor county in 1879 and was married on Jan
7 1892. She is survived by her husband and 4 children. Howard Humphries and D.
A. Winter Jr of Abilene are her sons.'
Abilene Reporter Jan 8 1892: 'David Winter and Mrs. Humphreys were married at
teh home of J. H. Williams last night. Splendid refreshments were served by
Mrs. Williams, much enjoyed by the few intimate friends present.'

cancer. Occupation housewife, religion Baptist. father G. W. Humphreys brn
